Answering A Call

Next to answers incoming calls, placing calls to internal extensions and external phone numbers will likely be one of the most frequent uses of your desk phone. In this tutorial, we will explain On-Hook vs. Off-Hook Dialing and how to place calls using your Call Log and the Redial funtion.

1. Familiarize yourself with the GRP2615 idle screen

2. Incoming call from internal extension 1002 (Service) to extension 1001 (Sales)

  1. Notice the Line Key in the top left flashes red, indicating an incoming call
  2. In the pop-up window, you can see the extension name and number of the caller
  3. You can answer the call using any one of four different methods:
    • Lift the handset
    • Press the Speaker button for a hands-free speakerphone call
    • Press the “Answer” Soft Key under the LCD Display for a hands-free speakerphone call
    • Press the Headset button to answer on a compatible headset

3. Incoming call from external caller

  1. Notice the Line Key in the top left flashes red, indicating an incoming call
  2. In the pop-up window, you can see the Caller ID name and number of the caller
  3. You can answer the call using any one of four different methods:
    • Lift the handset
    • Press the Speaker button for a hands-free speakerphone call
    • Press the “Answer” Soft Key under the LCD Display for a hands-free speakerphone call
    • Press the Headset button to answer on a compatible headset

4. The Active Call Screen

  • Once the call is answered, the Soft Key options will update as seen in the image below

5. Call Volume Adjustment

  1. Once in the active call, if the volume is too soft or too loud, you can adjust the volume using the button in the image below. When not in an active call, this button will raise or lower your ring volume.

6. Ending the Call

  1. You can end the call using any one of three different methods:
    • Replace the handset
    • Press the Speaker button to end a speakerphone call
    • Press the “End Call” Soft Key under the LCD Display
